The Stream Xa serves two functions: first, translating the multitude of file formats into the purest possible form of the digital audio signal, Linear PCM. As part of this translation, this data is reprocessed to eliminate jitter and timing discrepancies. The second function is converting this digital data into analog form so that it can be passed directly to a conventional amplification system. With digital and analog output options, as well as integrated Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity options and a USB input, the Stream Xa is our most versatile streaming solution.
The Stream Xa's circuitry is divided into two separate sections, allowing the product to be expanded with the separate PSX R2 power supply. This addition completely isolates the product's DAC section, improving timing and eliminating any intermodulation that can affect sensitive analog signals. Although not required for excellent performance, this addition is a valuable upgrade for the discerning audiophile.
