With a front ported bass reflex port, an angled and raised tweeter and no grille, the CS-2 speaker has been specifically designed to provide the best possible sound quality in sideboards and other audio furniture, such as under a television.
The new CS-2 is an addition to the existing CS-1 model and was specially developed for flat furniture.
Best sound quality also with sideboards
For the best possible sound quality, the Lyngdorf CS-2 is based on the same mid/woofer and tweeter as the successful CS-1, with a construction and sound tuning specifically for placement in furniture. Thanks to the bass reflex on the front and a frequency range that is linear up to 42 Hz, the CS-2 does not require the support of a subwoofer. The powerful 6.5 inch / 16.5 cm woofer/midrange driver is equipped with a strong magnet and together with the bass reflex tuning the bass reproduction is surprisingly powerful for such a small speaker.
Elevated and sloped tweeter for stereo angling
The fabric dome tweeter is both raised and slightly angled. This special placement of the tweeter reduces sound diffraction at the edges within a piece of furniture and also improves the sound radiation towards the listening area, corresponding to the typical angling of conventional free-standing stereo loudspeakers.
Flat housing for easier furniture integration
The Lyngdorf CS-2 is based on the CS-1 but with different case dimensions to fit into flatter furniture. While both speakers offer the same sound quality, the new CS-2 has a shallower cabinet, measuring just 20cm compared to the CS-1's 30cm.
The cabinet is a low-resonance MDF construction with a durable and easy-to-clean matte black finish. Self-adhesive rubber pads are included to avoid scratching the furniture surface and to absorb resonance between the furniture and the speaker. The CS-2 is supplied without its own front skin to allow for the clearest music reproduction when placed behind the fabric doors of TV sideboards and other audio furniture such as Clic.
