The D-60 expands the manufacturer's Discreet series as the fifth model, developed for the growing
Custom installation market.

The D-60 loudspeaker is the model with the highest power handling and sensitivity as well as the highest achievable sound pressure within the Discreet series.

The Lyngdorf Discreet series was introduced in 2021 with the models D-500, D-500 Center, D-5 and D-5 IC, developed as built-in loudspeakers for home cinemas and living rooms and supplemented with the LS-1000 line source loudspeakers and the BW- 20 boundary woofers.

High-performance built-in speakers

The D-60 was designed as a high-performance in-wall speaker that can be used both for front channels with additional woofers and as a surround speaker. Within the Discreet series, it offers the highest continuous power handling (200 watts according to IEC), sensitivity (92 dB at 2.83 V/1 m) and the highest maximum achievable sound pressure level (112 dB). This makes the D-60 the ideal choice for demanding home cinemas and larger rooms, as well as a surround supplement to the outstanding LS-1000 line source loudspeakers in order to keep the sound level at the same level.

Powerful tissue tweeter and new midrange driver

Compared to the D-500, the D-60 is equipped with a more powerful fabric tweeter based on a stronger magnet. The two 18cm aluminum midrange drivers are equipped with ventilated magnets and cast baskets, while the inverted surround allows for a flat speaker front and reduced overall depth. The tweeter and both mid-range drivers are driven by the amplifier or power amp via a two-way crossover.

Developed for combination with woofers

The frequency range of the D-60 extends from 22 kHz down to 80 Hz (-3dB) and thus requires additional woofers for LFE and deep bass reproduction, for example the Lyngdorf BW-20. Compared to the D-60, the built-in loudspeaker D-500 has a midrange driver and two passive woofers, so that a lower bass range down to 50 Hz (-3dB) is covered, which means that the D-500 can also be used as a full-range built-in loudspeaker on the left and right TV is suitable.

Low-resonance MDF housing

All speakers in the Lyngdorf Discreet series have their own, permanently connected housing, so that there is no need for an aftermarket backbox or closed recess in the wall. This ensures a consistent, plannable sound quality in different rooms and different wall constructions. The low-resonance MDF housing has a matt black finish and is available with a white, magnetically held front cover.
