This device is a used device and is in good condition.

The Holbo Airbearing MkII is a high-precision turntable from Slovenia that takes analog audio technology to a new level. Its unique selling point is its consistent air bearing design: both the solid turntable platter and the linear tracking tonearm float virtually frictionlessly on a cushion of air. The result is noise-free, high-resolution sound that immerses you in the depths of every recording.

Innovative design – simple, functional, precise

At first glance, the Holbo Mk II impresses with its clean design: A 30 mm thick MDF chassis rests on three finely adjustable feet with spike pucks. This minimalist plinth is only 150 mm high and supports a CNC-machined aluminum turntable, which alone weighs approximately 5 kg. Due to the airflow, the effective weight of the air bearing is approximately 2.16 kg – yet everything appears to float lightly.

The speed is selected electronically via LED-switched buttons (red/green) for 33?? or 45??rpm – elegant, intuitive, without the need for a dust cover.

Linear-tracking tonearm – perfectly aligned and variably adjustable

The tonearm follows the tangential principle and also features air bearings. With an effective length of 163 mm, it reduces tracking errors to virtually zero. Thanks to its aluminum alloy and carbon material combination, it has a low effective vertical mass of 7.5 g with a total weight of 31.6 g. The following adjustments are available:

  • Azimuth (angle of inclination),
  • VTA/SRA (±7 mm),
  • Leveling (parallel to the turntable),
  • Trackingforce via rear weight adjustment.

This results in precise channel separation and neutral sound reproduction – comparable to significantly more expensive reference systems.

Engine, drive & air supply

The Japanese DC motor is brushless, electronically controlled, and drives the turntable via a rubber belt. The power supply supports 110–240 V at 50/60 Hz.

The external air pump silently delivers approximately 0.35 bar of pressure at a power consumption of only 10 W. With compact dimensions (225 x 147 x 120 mm) and a weight of 1.8 kg, it can be discreetly placed in a rack or other room.

Sound and user experience

Numerous tests confirm the exceptional sound quality: a wide, stable soundstage with minimal background noise, vibrant dynamics, and high detail. Users particularly praise the easy setup, intuitive handling, and the feeling that the system plays effortlessly – a true 'set-and-forget' experience for the finest sound reproduction.
