B18 LOUDSPEAKER The B18 loudspeaker is designed as a 2 ½-way bass reflex loudspeaker using the front-firing principle and is an all-round talent in terms of sound: space-saving, yet at the same time highly musical and dynamic. As part of the expansion of the Burmester B-series loudspeaker portfolio, the B18 was adapted to the appearance of the B28 and B38 in 2022 and now also has the simple, understated screwless front, which means that the loudspeaker can be integrated even more elegantly into any living room ambience. In addition, the variants in terms of housing designs and anodized colors of the fronts have also been standardized across the entire B series. Handmade The B18 loudspeaker is designed as a 2 ½-way bass reflex loudspeaker using the front-firing principle and is an all-round talent in terms of sound: space-saving, yet at the same time highly musical and dynamic. The high-frequency reproduction benefits from the ring radiator developed exclusively for Burmester, which ensures optimal transparency and resolution. The bass-midrange and mid-bass drivers are a further development based on an already proven driver, which now also helps the B18 achieve impressive sound performance. The highly complex crossover is located in its own housing chamber, as is the mid-woofer, whose own closed housing results in a particularly clean mid-range performance. The base of the B18, which is constructed using the sandwich principle, consists of a high-molecular thermoplastic polymer combined with other materials with high internal damping and rigidity to optimally decouple the loudspeaker from the floor. The solid MDF front, in conjunction with the housing optimized using FEM analysis, ensures accurate, precise bass reproduction and significantly reduces the resonance of the housing. In addition to the mechanical damping provided by a foam cylinder, the B18 loudspeaker has a bass switch to adapt the bass reproduction to the spatial conditions and personal listening taste.
