The M17 V2i AV processor preamplifier offers home cinema fans almost perfect surround performance. The large touchscreen display makes operating the M17 V2i child's play - and a real pleasure. MDC – future-proof modular system

MDC, short for Modular Design Construction, is NAD's measure against hi-fi systems that are too quickly obsolete. In particular, the technologies for A/V devices have been developing faster and faster in recent decades. As a result, home theater fans who want to take advantage of new file formats, higher bandwidth High Speed HDMI connections, or additional height channels for surround playback like Dolby Atmos ® are forced to regularly replace their A/V receiver or amplifier. NAD's MDC policy is to integrate all age-sensitive technologies on a high-quality plug-in card that can be quickly and easily exchanged for a newer version by a qualified technician. In addition, the MDC modules enable individual assembly of the corresponding NAD amplifiers. The scope of delivery of the NAD M17 V2i includes the two MDC modules AM 17 and VM 310.

MQA - Studio master quality music

MQA is not a new file format, but an innovative way of packaging large music files with complex coding, efficient compression technology and a digital signature in such a way that even original studio master recordings in 24-bit/192 kHz format can be stored in comparatively small data packages packaged and made available online. For this purpose, the music data is packaged in any container such as ALAC, FLAC or WAV. When playing back via a decoder integrated in BluOS ® , the player completely unpacks the file and returns it to its original format, the studio master file, without any loss.

Dirac Live ® – software for correcting room acoustics and impulse response

Dirac Live ® is an innovative room correction whose basic function is to calibrate an audio system to the acoustics of the listening room. But in addition to adjusting certain frequencies, Dirac Live ® uses the most advanced algorithms to also analyze the impulse behavior of the audio signals being played. In this way, possible discrepancies between the impulses contained in the original signal and their reproduction are corrected so that the hi-fi system sounds more balanced, natural and spatial. The M17 V2i comes with a full frequency version of Dirac Live ® software.

Balanced signal processing with separate linear power supply

As in all professional recording studios and live sound reinforcement systems, signal processing in the M17 V2i is symmetrical in all channels. Lockable XLR connectors and special interface electronics enable long cable runs without disruptive interference or signal loss.

Flexible connection options

The M17 V2i boasts the latest HDMI features including HDCP 2.2, 4:4:4 color resolution, High Dynamic Range video support and CEC/ARC. Two coaxial and two optical digital inputs and outputs are available for digital audio sources, seven analog stereo inputs accept signals from conventional hi-fi components. Channels not used in the main setup can be used for playback in separate listening zones, for which there is even a separate source selection and volume control available.

Compact home cinema centre

The M17 V2i combines all operating and decoding functions in a compact and robust aluminum housing. The A/V preamp only needs to be connected to one or more of our NAD M28 seven-channel power amplifiers. Their extremely powerful and sonorous HybridDigital™ Purifi Eigentakt™ amplifier stages easily provide each loudspeaker with the necessary power.

BluOS™ – multi-room streaming in HD quality

BluOS™ is an innovative, wireless system that allows music to be streamed throughout the house. The associated user interface is one of the few solutions worldwide to stream uncompressed high-resolution 24-bit / 192 kHz music data to the players integrated in the network. BluOS™ only uses the local network for the transmission of music and organization of the platform - and is controlled with the BluOS™ app available for smartphones and tablets or a Windows or Mac computer. Since BluOS™ is multi-room capable, up to 64 zones can be integrated and controlled either synchronously with an audio stream or individually with different programs at different volumes. Bluesound understands numerous file formats from MP3 to MQA Studio Master quality. Whether streaming music services, your own music library on a hard drive or Internet radio - with BluOS™ you always have access to your favorite music throughout the network.

Incidentally, BluOS™ can also be integrated into some innovative home automation systems, so that in addition to the intelligent control of lighting, heating and other building services, it is also possible to operate a BluOS™ multi-room system via the smart home panel. Individually programmable A/V presets

The M17 V2i's central touch-sensitive TFT display makes setting up and controlling the device easier than ever. Each input used can be individually named, and five A/V presets are provided to store speaker level and tone settings so the system can be easily adapted to different types of program material at the touch of a button. Surround modes such as Dolby Digital and DTS are activated automatically if the program is encoded accordingly. The M17 V2i also remembers your last used settings when it is switched in and out of standby mode.

Apple AirPlay 2

The M17 V2i can be integrated into an Apple network via AirPlay 2 and then selected directly via your Mac, iPhone or iPad as the playback device for your music stream. And if you have activated Siri voice control on your Apple device, all you have to do is say "Hey Siri, play the latest Paul McCartney album" or "Hey Siri, play NDR 2" and your NAD home cinema system will start playback immediately.
