This even exceeds the high requirement of the full Dolby Atmos Home layout 24.1.10 by 13 channels! So there is still room for future developments and formats.
Thanks to the unique hardware design of the Altitude32, the number of channels can be increased from 32 channels to 48 discrete channels by means of a paid update.
These additional 16 channels are transferred digitally to the Altitude48ext extension unit and output in analog form via identical high-end DA converters. The Altitude48ext is not just a DA converter, but a full Trinnov processor with crossovers, bass management, equalizers, ... and has 32 analog output channels. In combination, setups with up to 64 channels can be implemented.
