JVC has revised all components

JVC, a leading name in projector technology, has once again set a milestone by completely redesigning all the key components of its latest range of projectors. The optical unit, lens and circuit board have been redesigned from the ground up to create the world's smallest native 4K projector. This remarkable design is the result of intensive research and development aimed at providing a combination of compact design and outstanding picture quality.

Excellent brightness and durability

JVC's proprietary Blu-Escent laser technology uses a blue laser diode as the light source, resulting in remarkable brightness and a long service life. The DLA-NZ700 achieves an impressive brightness of 2,300 lumens, while the DLA-NZ500 shines with 2,000 lumens. Both models offer a laser life of around 20,000 hours, which is exceptional in this class of device and enables long-term use without frequent maintenance. This high brightness ensures that vivid and dynamic images can be projected even in bright rooms without losing color fidelity or contrast sharpness.

Outstanding resolution and detail

Another highlight of this new projector series is the newly developed large format lens, which consists of 80 mm diameter, 15 lenses in 11 groups. This lens has been specially designed to ensure fully native 4K D-ILA resolution in every corner of the image. This results in exceptional sharpness and detail that will impress even the most demanding home cinema lovers. The clarity and precision of the projected image makes every detail, be it in films, games or presentations, appear in the highest quality.

Gen2 Frame Adapt HDR function for brighter and more colorful HDR images

The Frame Adapt HDR function, which uses a proprietary algorithm to analyze the maximum brightness of HDR10 content per scene or frame in real time and adjust the tone mapping to the optimal dynamic range for video projection, has evolved. Now available in its second generation (Gen2), this function offers a comprehensively revised tone adjustment to produce HDR images with even higher definition. The result is HDR images that are not only brighter and more colorful, but also cover an expanded dynamic range, resulting in unprecedented image quality. The tone curve selection algorithm has also been improved to enable more precise adjustment and thus more realistic image reproduction.

Deeper blacks for richer gradations

Frame Adapt HDR has been further improved with the introduction of the new Deep Black Tone Control function. This function uses a new algorithm to further suppress the tones in dark areas, creating a more realistic darkness. This maximizes the dynamic range of the new generation of 4K D-ILA devices and delivers images with a contrast that exceeds all previous expectations. In particular, scenes with both light and dark shades, such as nighttime cityscapes, can now be projected with a level of realism never before achieved.

Comprehensive new development for ultimate 4K and 8K projection

The JVC 4K D-ILA projector has been completely redesigned both inside and out and is now the world's smallest native 4K projector. With the second generation of 8K/e-shiftX technology, it sets new standards in image quality and delivers an impressive 8K display. This groundbreaking technology uses precise pixel shifts to simulate 8K resolution and thus produce incredibly detailed images.

High-quality laser light source and optical components

One of the key innovations is the new BLU-Escent laser light source, which not only delivers exceptionally high brightness of up to 2,300 lumens, but also has a service life of around 20,000 hours. This technology uses a blue laser diode source that enables a vivid and dynamic projection that goes far beyond conventional light sources.

Additionally, a state-of-the-art 80mm 15-element, 11-group lens was developed, made from high-quality glass. This lens enables flawless, native 4K resolution that extends to the corners of the image. Stunningly realistic images with deep blacks and bright highlights are produced thanks to the native contrast ratio of 80,000:1, which translates into a spectacular dynamic contrast ratio of 8:1.

Next generation HDR technology

The projector supports HDR10+, an advanced technology that contains the metadata of the producer's intentions for each scene. This data allows the projector to reproduce images exactly as the creator intended. The Frame Adapt HDR function analyzes HDR10 content in real time, frame by frame or scene by scene, and performs dynamic tone mapping adjustments to ensure the best possible image quality. Improved gamma processing accuracy, increased from 12 to 18 bit equivalent, ensures even smoother and finer color gradation.

In addition, the Auto Tone Mapping function automatically adjusts the settings to achieve optimal HDR10 image quality. The integrated color management system with 6-axis matrix ensures precise color reproduction that meets professional requirements.

Exceptional brightness and image fidelity

The projector is equipped with a 3rd generation 0.69-inch 4K D-ILA device that works with three of these advanced panels. This technology enables a native resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels and offers a brightness of an impressive 2,300 lumens. This creates vivid and dynamic images that are optimally displayed even in bright environments.

For a faithful representation of the original, the projector offers the FILMMAKER MODE™, which respects the creative intentions of the filmmakers. In addition, the projector automatically switches to HDR picture mode as soon as HDR10 signals are received to ensure the best possible playback quality.

Advanced connectivity and motion display

With two HDMI inputs supporting a data rate of 32 Gbps and HDCP 2.3 compliant, 4K60P signals can be easily processed. The Clear Motion Drive supports 4K60P (4:4:4) signals and significantly improves motion representation, which is particularly beneficial for action-packed movie scenes or sports broadcasts.

Ease of use and calibration features

For easy setup and operation, the projector has eight installation modes including lens control, pixel adjustment, masking, anamorphic settings (on/off), screen adjustment, installation style, keystone correction and aspect ratio. These modes can be saved and recalled for different environments.

The ISF C3 Certified Calibration Controls provide excellent image quality that can be optimized for specific environments. In addition, the projector can be automatically adjusted using an optical sensor thanks to its Auto Calibration function.

Color and latency management

The projector features a wide color gamut that exceeds DCI/P3 specifications, producing rich, vibrant images that come to life. Low Latency Mode minimizes display lag, allowing for faster response when receiving signals from PCs or gaming consoles.

A new picture mode called “Vivid” has been introduced for SDR images to ensure vivid image representation even with standard dynamic range content. Finally, the DML (Display Mastering Luminance) function allows the dynamic range to be adjusted to provide a better HDR experience.
