The 2MR 78 is a top-class scanner that features improved technology that enables excellent tonal accuracy. What's special about this stylus is the use of a spherical diamond tip, which is perfect for playing 78 rpm shellac records and has a larger stylus profile. The cartridge construction is made of Hopelex, which ensures high rigidity and eliminates unwanted resonances.
A special feature of the 2MR 78 is the use of a strapped output, which delivers the same output signal from both pole pins. This effectively eliminates the need for mono-specific equipment and allows true mono playback to be enjoyed on any stereo playback system.
The 2MR series is characterized by its excellent compatibility and can be used in various playback systems and with a variety of phono preamplifiers.

Interchangeability of the 2M Series: The motors, coils and magnet configurations of the 2M Series are not identical. The 2M Red and 2M Blue are identical, as are the 2M Bronze and 2M Black, and the true mono variants 2M Mono and 2M 78. Likewise, the 2M Series Stylus are interchangeable within the following combinations:
- 2M Red, 2M Blue and 2M Silver
- 2M Bronze and 2M Black
- 2M Mono and 2M 78
