With the X2 B, Pro-Ject expands its successful X-series with a high-quality turntable that combines high-end technology with elegant design and precise workmanship. Its predecessor already set standards in its price range – the X2 B consistently continues this concept and adds a modern, fully balanced signal path.

The high-quality materials underscore its audiophile aspirations. The solid platter made of satin-finished acrylic ensures stable rotation and contributes to smooth, resonance-free playback. The plinth is available in several exclusive finishes, including matte black, matte white, piano black, and an elegant walnut veneer with a satin finish.

True Balanced Connection for maximum signal purity

Within the Pro-Ject portfolio, the X2 B marks the entry point into the so-called True Balanced Connection. Thanks to fully symmetrical signal transmission, interference and noise can be significantly reduced.

In combination with a suitable balanced phono cable and an appropriately equipped phono preamplifier, this connection enables a particularly clean and interference-free transmission of the sensitive vinyl signal. The result is a higher signal-to-noise ratio, greater transparency, and exceptionally clear music reproduction.

Convenient electronic speed selection

The X2 B features a convenient electronic speed selector, allowing easy switching between 33 and 45 revolutions per minute. A manual speed of 78 rpm can also be set for shellac records.

Resonance-optimized drive

The solid chassis, made of high-density MDF, offers high rigidity and reduces unwanted resonances to a minimum. The unit rests on sturdy aluminum feet equipped with TPE damping elements. These effectively absorb vibrations and contribute to stable tracking.

Inside, a precise DC/AC motor controller with an integrated sine wave generator ensures a clean and stable power supply to the motor and guarantees an exact and constant speed.

The high-quality platter bearing is based on a sintered bronze bushing in which a precisely manufactured stainless steel axle runs on a Teflon bearing surface. This design minimizes friction and ensures exceptionally smooth rotation of the platter.

High-quality tonearm with optimized damping

The X2 B is equipped with a straight 9-inch tonearm, the tube of which is made from a carbon fiber-aluminum composite material. This hybrid construction combines high rigidity with excellent damping properties and effectively reduces unwanted resonances.

The tonearm tube has a conical shape with a larger diameter, which further improves mechanical stability. At the same time, high-quality, inverted tonearm bearings with hardened stainless steel tips and sapphire bearings ensure particularly precise and virtually frictionless movement of the arm.

The tonearm base allows for precise adjustment of the vertical tracking angle (VTA). Additionally, the rotatable tonearm tube enables precise azimuth adjustment to achieve the optimal position of the cartridge.

Flexible connection options

The turntable features a dual terminal with a 5-pin mini-XLR socket and standard RCA/phono connectors. This allows the X2 B to be used with both balanced Pro-Ject phono cables and conventional RCA connections.

An external power supply provides additional protection for the sensitive audio signal against mechanical and electromagnetic interference.

The scope of delivery also includes a transparent dust cover made of plexiglass, which is attached to the device via sturdy hinges.
