The Xtension 10 is perfect for anyone who loves the sound quality of the large Xtension but is looking for a device with a rack-compatible width of 48 cm. All of our experience from more than 20 years of turntable construction can be found here. The chassis of the Xtension 10 consists of MDF filled with metal granulate, which enables high mass and low resonance. Magnetic field feet ensure optimal decoupling of the 22 kg Xtension 10, which represents a perfect symbiosis of the principles of mass drive and sub-chassis. Two magnets of the same polarity in the feet allow the record player to float. Unlike the Japanese classics, the special platter of the Xtension 10 Evolution is not made of metal that is susceptible to resonance, but an in-house construction made of a special cast metal alloy, which is glued to recycled vinyl plates and finely balanced after heat treatment. The heavy plate is cushioned on the inside with a Sorbothane® strip. The result is a heavy, completely resonance-free platter that slides smoothly on a magnet-assisted inverted ceramic bearing. The Pro-Ject 10cc Evolution tonearm is decoupled from the chassis by Sorbothane and has a mass tonearm base that prevents unwanted vibrations and ensures interference-free scanning. The 10cc Evolution comes with 4 different counterweights that allow adjustment to almost any top-end pickup with a mass of 4 to 14 grams.
Pro-Ject Audio Systems supplies its high-end turntables with premium 5pin>RCA tonearm cables as standard, but on request also with symmetrical premium 5pin>XLR tonearm cables. This ensures an optimal connection to the phono stage Pro-Ject Phono Box RS. The balanced connection style offers superior vinyl playback with balanced sources.
NOTE: In order to be able to use the superior quality of balanced signal transmission, both devices to be connected must have balanced connections. The balanced signal processing significantly reduces the effects of external interference.
