Rega's tried-and-tested upper-class turntable RP3 is reinvented and will surpass itself in the Planar 3 version in 2016. Completely overhauled, with so many improvements that you could almost speak of an RP4 here.
The Planar 3 already has the new RB 330 tonearm - with a new bearing housing, improved anti-skating function and low-capacity internal cabling.
Everywhere - not much, but in exactly the right places - additional measures to reduce the response were taken. The frame itself and the struts have been efficiently reinforced, the brass housing for the bearing has been made even more precise and the new feet of the Planar 3 have also been optimized for perfect energy dissipation.
- New RB 330 tonearm with improved anti-skating setting, newly developed tonearm cable (lowest capacity) and Neutrik connectors
- Brass housing for the platter bearing with improved accuracy
- new sub-platter with increased precision and increased rigidity
- 12 mm thick float glass platter with polished edge and reduced tolerances
- New chassis finish with high gloss acrylic. The acrylic gives the wooden frame more support and looks great too
