Vinyl Black Keys - Drop out Boogie

As real BLACK KEYS fans, we are very enthusiastic about the current release frequency of the dynamic blues duo. Last year we were happy about the cover album DELTA KREAM. This year there will be something homemade again.

The chemistry is right

DROPOUT BOOGIE contains ten new tracks, two of which were realized with the help of 'outside'. For the catchy WILD CHILD, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney got support from Angelo Petraglia (Kings of Leon) and Greg Cartwright (Reigning Sound). Guitar legend Billy F. Gibbons of ZZTop can be heard on GOOD LOVE with his signature growl. The tracks came about the way BLACK KEYS tracks come about: playing. If Auerbach and Carney are to be believed, the music just flows out of them as soon as they pick up the instruments. You can hear the chemistry between the two musicians, who have known each other almost their entire lives.

The songs on DROPOOUT BOOGIE are original and don't sound like copies of themselves in any way. That's not something to be taken for granted these days. Lyrically, THE BLACK KEYS get straight to the point, as always. Dan Auerbach's voice is not the typical blues voice, so guitars, basses and Carney's powerful and sometimes playful work on the drums are in the foreground. DROPOUT BOOGIE is well worth listening to and gets better with every repeat.
