New Kid On The Block! No sooner is the new MC462 AC stereo power amplifier in the shop window than McIntosh pulls the next power amplifier arrow out of the amplifier quiver. The brand new 'little sister' MC312 AC has an impressive two times 300 watts of power and is very solidly dimensioned at 47.6 kg! And she, too, received a large number of updates and improvements. This is how the MC312 AC became theThe filter capacity of the filter capacitors was doubled, which increased the "dynamic headroom", ie the ability to reproduce suddenly occurring dynamic jumps, by 27%.

Again, new high-current output transistors have been used, which minimize delays based on thermal imbalance so radically that they work with optimal performance under any load. In the case of the MC312 AC, too, all these measures lead to a radically improved sound compared to the MC302 AC!

The speaker cables find a firm hold on the back with six sets of the company's own SolidCinch™ connections. An energy management system switches off the MC312 AC after a defined time without an input signal. Other improvements include new internal wiring and selected electronic components. The new MC312 AC delivers its 2x 300 watts with barely perceptible total distortion of 0.005%. Thanks to McIntosh Autoformer™ technology, this power is available for loudspeakers from 2 - 8 ohms.

Of course, the MC312 AC also offers the classic McIntosh features such as Power Guard®? (signal level monitoring), Sentry Monitor ™ (short-circuit protection circuit) and the gold-plated speaker connections, which always deliver a high-quality signal to the speakers.

And like the MC462 AC, the MC312 AC has been given LED backlighting with a re-coloured McIntosh blue colour, and an attractive one-piece top cover with three molded glass inserts, each bearing the McIntosh branding and winding details in the best tradition of McIntosh of the power transformer and the autoformer are printed. Flanking the rear of the amp are two highly efficient McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks™ with an inlaid Mc logo. The new MC312 AC stereo power amplifier is a new interpretation of the McIntosh aesthetics admired throughout the hi-fi world.
