Dave DAC

With the DAVE, Chord Electronics has presented its best D / A converter to date. The most advanced converter technology is used, with which Chord is once again breaking new technological ground.

In addition to its reference converter, DAVE also has a digital preamplifier and a high-quality headphone amplifier . Like all Chord products, it is largely handcrafted in Kent. And of course the new converter also uses the tried and tested FPGA technology, but offers more than ten times as much computing power as its predecessor.

The heart and brain of the DAVE is the LX75 version of the Spartan 6 FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). In terms of computing power, this chip is really huge and offers enormous performance potential. This enables the timing of the digital data and noise shaping to be achieved that far exceed the capabilities of all known DAC chips. The superior technology of DAVE enables a previously unmatched musical and realistic sound with extremely precise timing.

INPUTS
2x optical digital input (up to 192kHz); 4x electrical digital input (up to 384kHz); 1x AES / EBU (up to 192kHz); USB (up to 768kHz, DSD256);

OUTPUTS
2x ultra-high-speed coax output (768kHz dual data mode; for future applications); Analog output (stereo cinch); Balanced output (XLR)

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Output voltage 6V RMS; Dynamic range 127 dB; Total harmonic distortion 0.000015%
