The Marantz NA8005 combines versatile network streaming with a high-quality integrated USB DAC and a sophisticated analog output stage. As a network audio player, it accesses music from PCs, NAS devices, and external storage media, as well as internet radio and streaming services.
The NA8005 plays back high-resolution music formats such as FLAC and WAV up to 192 kHz/24-bit, as well as DSD files, via its network connection. ALAC is also supported. Thanks to gapless playback, albums encoded in this format can be enjoyed without any annoying interruptions between tracks. AirPlay is available for wireless streaming from compatible Apple devices, and Spotify Connect is also integrated.
A particular strength of the NA8005 is its DAC mode. The integrated D/A converter can also be used with external digital sources via USB-B, coaxial, or optical digital input. The USB-B connection operates asynchronously and supports PCM up to 192 kHz/24-bit as well as DSD at 2.8 and 5.6 MHz. This makes the NA8005 suitable as a high-quality external audio interface for a PC.
For analog signal processing, Marantz relies on the proven HDAM-SA2 modules. A high-quality high-current DAC, a precise dual-system clock, and carefully selected audio components support detailed and precise music reproduction. The system is complemented by a fully discrete headphone amplifier.
The NA8005 also proves versatile in its operation: In addition to the large display, the player can be conveniently controlled via the Marantz Remote App for Apple and Android devices. A USB port on the front also enables digital playback from compatible iPod devices.
