Entirely designed, engineered and manufactured in the UK, Huei has been carefully engineered to provide turntables with the same high gain standards that Chord Electronics has become known for over the past 30 years.
Huei benefits from both the moving magnet and the moving coil functionality and, thanks to extensive gain and impedance adjustment options, offers compatibility with a large number of pickups; Huei's high and low gain switching settings are easily accessible via the front panel and offer welcome flexibility.
Huei's advanced design provides (for the first time in a Chord Electronics phono preamplifier) extremely low-noise microprocessor control of its main functions, including a convenient memory function. With several options for impedance matching, seven-stage switchable amplification and a switchable rumble filter, Huei's design offers extensive compatibility.
Precisely crafted from solid aircraft-grade aluminum ingot, Huei has a form factor similar to the company's Qutest DAC and a top-mounted viewing window into the illuminated electronics. The design also shares the same polychromatic control balls that the company has become known for with its digital products. The illuminated faceplate spheres provide direct access to Huei's gain and impedance settings, the selection for MM / MC cartridges and access to the integrated rumble filter.
Huei is an elegant, practical and powerful solution for integrating turntables into Chord Electronics (and others) systems and has balanced (RCA) and unbalanced outputs (XLR) with RCA inputs. A high quality external 12V power supply is also included.
