Dynaudio Confidence 50i – High-end 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker for large rooms

The Dynaudio Confidence 50i is the largest model in the Confidence i series. As a passive 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker, it was specifically designed to effortlessly fill large listening rooms with acoustic authority, high dynamics, and absolute detail.

Symmetrical driver arrangement and DDC 3.0

The heart of the Confidence 50i is the symmetrical arrangement of the drivers around the central tweeter. Two 18 cm MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) woofers work together with two dedicated 15 cm MSP midrange drivers. This division across multiple smaller diaphragms guarantees a large effective diaphragm area for maximum air displacement, while simultaneously delivering excellent impulse response and minimal inertia.

In combination with the precisely shaped front baffle and the DDC Lens, this arrangement forms the Dynaudio Directivity Control System (DDC 3.0). The acoustic lens focuses the sound dispersion vertically, drastically reducing disruptive reflections from the floor and ceiling. The result is precise sound alignment with the listening position and an enlarged horizontal listening area (sweet spot).

Esotar 3i tweeter & optimized crossover

The Esotar 3i soft-dome tweeter is used for fine detail in the high-frequency range. Revised ventilation channels, improved thermal stability, and an optimized neodymium magnet system ensure distortion-free operation and maximum power handling – even during long, demanding listening sessions. The redesigned crossover guarantees a seamless transition between the high and mid-frequency ranges.

Defined bass reflex system and low-resonance enclosure

The bass reflex system fires downwards (down-firing) directly onto a solid steel base plate. This defined distance between the reflex port and the base allows the system to operate independently of the room's flooring and enables flexible placement within the room.

The curved cabinet design without sharp edges prevents unwanted diffraction effects on the outer surfaces. Form and function are inextricably linked: the organic lines primarily serve acoustic neutrality and completely minimize cabinet resonances.
