It understands the latest audio and video technologies and decodes surround soundtracks with up to 7.2.4 channels - including the lossless formats Dolby ® TrueHD, DTS ® Master Audio and Dolby ® Atmos ® . To ensure optimal picture quality, 4K UltraHD signals (60p/4:4:4) are looped through without loss. With the integrated BluOS ® streaming platform, you can play back your own audio data as well as Internet radio stations and music streaming services in high-resolution quality in a multi-room network. Operation is extremely convenient via the touchscreen integrated in the front, a smartphone, a tablet or a PC. The nine amplifiers integrated in the T 778 each mobilize a continuous output of 85 watts and, if required, a pulse output of up to 300 watts at 4 O. And so that the AV receiver sounds optimal in every living room or home cinema, it has a NAD's switchable soft clipping function and the Dirac Live ® system can be used to measure the acoustics of the listening room.

Extensive surround sound options
The T 778 represents the currently most extensive and best possibilities for the reproduction of multi-channel surround sound in the NAD portfolio. It supports HDMI video switching and decodes surround soundtracks up to 7.2.4 channels. Its state-of-the-art DSPs now also master the high-resolution, lossless surround formats such as Dolby TrueHD or DTS-Master-Audio with object-based 3D audio such as Dolby Atmos, thus enabling a particularly intense home cinema experience. The T 778's digital inputs automatically detect the surround mode of the source material and activate the appropriate decoders. The digital bit stream is converted by high-resolution and extremely linear D/A converters.
Efficient distortion-free amplifier technology
The nine power amplifiers of the T 778 work with NAD's hybrid digital technology. This amplifier circuit is not only characterized by an extraordinarily good efficiency and extremely low distortion, but is also able to deliver very high peak currents with loud music impulses and for an impressively realistic reproduction of action scenes. The absolutely noise-free silence during breaks and the explosive dynamics that characterize this amplifier technology give your music and your films an extraordinary drama and excitement.
4K UHD video
Featuring the latest and most advanced 4K chipsets, the T 778 can handle standard and HD definition video sources including 4K Ultra HD with full compatibility for the latest 4:4:4:4 Pure Color 4K Ultra HD specification. It also offers full HDCP 2.2 compatibility so you can enjoy the highest quality 4K video with digital copyright protection.
Dolby Atmos®
The Dolby Atmos ® digital sound format ensures an extraordinary listening experience in your home cinema. You can implement a 7.2.4 system with the integrated amplifiers or the connections of the T 778. Regardless of the number of speakers, the T 778 produces an immersive sound reproduction all around the listener, enabling pinpoint localization of audio effects and reproducing the full realism of Dolby Atmos ® soundtracks.
Dirac Live ® – software for correcting room acoustics and impulse response
DIRAC Live Room Correction enables a remarkable improvement in sound quality by electronically adjusting the frequency response and impulse response. Once calibrated, DIRAC Live provides an extremely clear, natural and accurate image.
BluOS ® – multi-room streaming in HD quality
The T 778 features BluOS ® , the high-resolution multi-room audio platform shared with NAD's sister brand Bluesound - a unique feature among high-end AV receivers. If the T 778 is connected to the Internet via Ethernet or WiFi, it has access to thousands of Internet radio stations and numerous high-quality music streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, Deezer and many others. In conjunction with MQA Studio masters, the T 778 also offers the highest audio resolution currently available.
Incidentally, BluOS ® can also be integrated into some innovative home automation systems, so that in addition to the intelligent control of lighting, heating and other building services, it is also possible to operate a BluOS ® multi-room system via the smart home panel. The driver software for the systems from the manufacturers Control4, Creston, ELAN, iPort, Lutron, Push, RTI and URC is available for download at the top of the sub-navigation under the “Smarthome Integration” tab.
NAD A/V Remote App
With the “NAD A/V Remote” app available for iOS, the T 778 can be conveniently remotely controlled via Bluetooth ® with a smartphone or tablet. So the app is basically a replacement for the NAD remote control that comes with the amplifier.
MQA - Studio master quality music
MQA is not a new file format, but an innovative way of packaging large music files with complex coding, efficient compression technology and a digital signature in such a way that even original studio master recordings in 24-bit/192 kHz format can be stored in comparatively small data packages packaged and made available online. For this purpose, the music data is packaged in any container such as ALAC, FLAC or WAV. When playing back via a decoder integrated in BluOS ® , the player completely unpacks the file and returns it to its original format, the studio master file, without any loss.
Future-proof MDC modular system
MDC, short for Modular Design Construction, is NAD's measure against hi-fi systems that are too quickly obsolete. In particular, the technologies for A/V devices have been developing faster and faster in recent decades. As a result, home theater fans who want to take advantage of new file formats, higher bandwidth High Speed HDMI connections, or additional height channels for surround playback like Dolby Atmos ® are forced to regularly replace their A/V receiver or amplifier. NAD's MDC policy is to integrate all age-sensitive technologies on a high-quality plug-in card that can be quickly and easily exchanged for a newer version by a qualified technician. In addition, the MDC modules enable individual assembly of the corresponding NAD amplifiers.
