Original record sound

Whether you've revisited your old record collection or are embracing the vinyl renaissance, you'll now have a unique musical experience as soon as the needle touches your favorite album. The Solo phono preamp retains the unique warmth of vinyl sound through a state-of-the-art switching power supply and a new surface-mount circuit board layout that reduces unwanted noise.

What are the advantages of a dedicated phono stage?

Due to the low level signals that a turntable produces, not all Hi-Fi amplifiers can be directly connected to a turntable. The phono preamp amplifies this signal so that a power amp can work with it. However, additional noise can easily occur here.

That's why Cambridge designed the Solo around exceptional components that deliver a warm and detailed vinyl-like sound without distorting the signal from your moving magnet system. The switched-mode power supply increases performance because it switches outside the audible frequency, resulting in significantly less hum; a new board layout reduces noise from surface mount components.

attention to detail

If some records in your collection are already worn out, the subsonic filter suppresses low-frequency hum that can be caused by irregularities in your record. Added to this is the balance control, which handles potential pickup imbalances (which could otherwise result in a difference between left and right channels). The result is a multi-faceted experience with accurate sound.

Environmentally friendly

With less than half a watt of standby power consumption and an automatic shut-off after 20 minutes of non-use, the Solo phono preamp is green at heart. This also gives the device the same worldwide voltage and allows it to be used anywhere in the world.
