When talking about iconic Australian rock music, one name inevitably comes to mind: AC/DC. For decades, this band has shaped the international music scene with energetic songs and thrilled generations of listeners. Songs like "Back in Black," "Thunderstruck," and "Hell's Bells" have long since achieved cult status—their popularity remains undiminished. To celebrate this musical legacy, Pro-Ject decided to develop a very special turntable. The result is a limited-edition special model that sets the highest standards both visually and acoustically.
A design that breathes rock history
The appearance of this exclusive turntable is a direct tribute to the band, whose logo is a recognizable symbol worldwide. This distinctive emblem served as the creative foundation for the entire design concept of the device. The striking look combines powerful aesthetics with functional precision – in keeping with the music that inspired it.
But this model isn't just about looks. The goal was to develop a device that also sets new standards in sound quality. High-quality materials and sophisticated design principles were used to achieve this.
Technical sophistication in every detail
The turntable's body is made of solid MDF (medium-density fiberboard)—a material known for its favorable sound properties. Its asymmetrical design achieves excellent resonance damping, effectively suppressing unwanted vibrations.
A special technical highlight is the acrylic sub-platter, which rotates on a precision-machined stainless steel spindle in a durable bronze bushing. This combination ensures extremely smooth operation and minimal friction—two crucial factors for precise playback quality.
The system is supported by a flat silicone drive belt construction connected to a high-quality AC motor. This motor operates smoothly and offers a constant rotation speed—a decisive advantage for lovers of analog sound reproduction.
Another notable element is the heavy glass platter. Its high mass not only ensures precise rotation but also makes the entire structure largely immune to external interference. At the same time, the transparent material allows an unobstructed view of the components underneath – a visual delight for technology enthusiasts.
Sound that gets under your skin
The sonic performance of this turntable also leaves nothing to be desired. At its heart is a newly developed tonearm, designed specifically for this model. This combined technical expertise with design influences inspired by the rock band's powerful visual language.
The unit is factory-equipped with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge – a component considered by connoisseurs to be particularly dynamic and detailed. It ensures that every nuance of the music is faithfully reproduced – from delicate guitar lines to thunderous drum passages. Rock fans in particular will delight in the energetic reproduction.
Limited special edition for connoisseurs and collectors
This model is not only a fully-fledged audio device, but also a collector's item with high emotional value. Production is strictly limited, meaning you're securing an exclusive piece of technology that captivates not only with its functionality, but also with its history and symbolism.
For true fans of the band and for lovers of high-quality analog audio technology, this turntable is a unique opportunity to combine two passions: the enthusiasm for powerful rock sound and the appreciation of precision engineering.
