With the RPM 5 Carbon, Pro-Ject Audio Systems presents a manual turntable that exceptionally combines design and engineering. Inspired by the larger RPM 9 Carbon, this model adopts key design principles and translates them into a compact yet highly ambitious turntable concept.

Resonance-optimized chassis & acrylic platter

The extremely low-resonance chassis forms a stable base for the heavy platter, which rotates on an inverted steel bearing with a ceramic ball. This design minimizes friction and ensures excellent smoothness.

The resonance-free platter is made of solid acrylic. This material offers optimal conditions for clean, controlled playback, as it effectively absorbs vibrations and reduces sound-degrading coloration. The combination of mass, material choice, and bearing design ensures impressive stability and precise speed control.

Freestanding motor with ultra-precise voltage supply

A key feature of the RPM 5 Carbon is its freestanding 15V AC motor. This spatial decoupling from the chassis significantly reduces unwanted vibrations.

The motor is driven by an ultra-precise AC generator with a DC power supply. This sophisticated solution ensures a particularly clean sine wave and thus a precise, stable speed – an essential prerequisite for authentic, dynamic music reproduction.

The proven belt drive complements the concept and contributes to the effective decoupling between motor and platter.

9” EVO carbon tonearm

The high-quality 9-inch EVO tonearm features a particularly rigid yet lightweight carbon fiber tube. This material combines high stability with excellent internal damping and is ideally suited for the precise guidance of demanding cartridge systems.

The tonearm is compatible with a wide range of high-quality MM and MC cartridges and allows for precise fine-tuning for optimal tracking conditions. The counterweight features TPE damping to effectively reduce micro-vibrations and further improve tracking stability.

The RPM 5 Carbon is optionally available with the proven Ortofon 2M Silver cartridge, which impresses with detailed resolution, lively dynamics and balanced sound.

High-quality signal transmission included

A superbly shielded, quasi-symmetrical, and low-capacitance Connect it E RCA cable is included. It ensures low-loss, interference-free signal transmission from the turntable to the phono preamplifier and contributes significantly to the overall performance of the system.

Thoughtful details

Height-adjustable aluminum conical feet ensure stable placement and allow for precise alignment of the turntable. A record clamp stabilizes the record during playback, while the included adapter allows for the playback of 7" singles.

The RPM 5 Carbon is available in three elegant high-gloss finishes – black, red, or white – making a striking visual statement. A matching dust cover is available as an option.
