Rega's crowd favorite still benefits from the technology of the Planar 3. Its tonearm RB 110 has the same precision bearings as those of the RB 330.
The turntable bearing is also from its big brother: a brass bearing with optimized adjustment. The new EBLT belt is also being used here for the first time. This offers greater running consistency.

The new Planar is “only” an entry-level model, but the revision to the 2021 version has made it so good that you can hear every improvement immediately.
Let's summarize: The plethora of improvements and innovations elevate the Planar 1 Plus far above its competitor models. In terms of price, it is certainly still an “entry-level turntable”; In terms of sound performance, it is far above that.
With the additional built-in preamplifier, the Planar 1 Plus can be connected directly to the high level inputs of any system via RCA (cinch) or 3.5mm jack cable. So you don't have to buy a phono amplifier if your existing devices don't have a phono input.
This specially designed, high-quality MM phono section is based on the award-winning Fono Mini. For use in the Planar 1 Plus, its circuitry should be optimized for the highest playback quality. For this purpose, the USB computer interface was omitted and the effort saved was put into further improving an already excellent amplifier.
The Planar 1 Plus is therefore suitable for connection as a high-level source such as. B. a CD player. A suitable cable is already included for this purpose. Installing a phono section in the turntable under the tonearm has undeniable advantages.
The carefully shielded tonearm cable is connected directly to the preamplifier and disruptive external influences are largely eliminated.
