Nagaoka Vinyl Care Set Pre- / Aftercare

The Nagaoka Pre-/Aftercare Care Set is specially formulated to optimally prepare records before playing and reliably care for them after listening. It is aimed at discerning vinyl enthusiasts and collectors who place particular value on gentle handling, protection, and long-term preservation of their records. The set complements existing cleaning routines and offers both antistatic preparation and careful aftercare.

Pretreatment – Protection and antistatic properties for sensitive panels

The process begins before playback with cleaning spraySP-562 , which is designed for highly statically charged or delicate records. The spray not only significantly reduces static charge but also simultaneously applies a fine protective layer to the surface. This is particularly beneficial for frequently played records and collector's items, as it reduces mechanical stress on the stylus during playback and minimizes groove wear.

For application, the spray is applied to one side of the record from a distance of approximately 20 cm in two even passes. Using the CL-120velvet brush , the liquid is spread along the groove, then wiped off in one direction and allowed to dry briefly. Then the second side is treated.

Post-treatment – Cleaning after playback

After listening, the SP-601 cleaning spray is used. This cleaning agent reliably removes residues that can accumulate during playback – such as vinyl abrasion, minute particles from the diamond stylus, or light dust accumulation. This optimally prepares the record for storage and keeps it free of fine deposits that could damage the groove bottom over time.

Here too, the product is applied evenly from a distance of approximately 20 cm, followed by careful distribution with the CL-120velvet brush and a clean wipe in one direction. A brief drying time ensures a dry, polished finish.

For collectors and special editions

The Pre-/Aftercare Set is particularly suitable for treasured collections: rare pressings, valuable first editions, or frequently played records. To complement the care and further optimize storage, Nagaoka also recommends using GRS LP paper sleeves, which are specially designed for gentle storage.
