When Eric Clapton calls his friends to record a record, the result is usually a clean, high-quality blues-rock record that people enjoy listening to, owning, and that looks good sitting there in the cupboard. When Slash calls his friends (their circle of friends may overlap a little), the whole thing ends in an ORGY OF THE DAMNED and sounds accordingly boisterous. There is no need to say anything more about Saul Hudson's musical abilities - on ORGY OF THE DAMNED we hear him in top form. He is not afraid of big names (or egos), which is probably thanks to the result of years of working with Axl Rose. On his new album we also hear the voices and creativity of Gary Clark Jr., Billy F. Gibbons, Iggy Pop, Beth Hart and Brian Johnson, among others. Absolute blues-rock classics are played with plenty of verve and crashing elegance.
