The versatile MI1250 12-channel digital amplifier can distribute pristine music reproduction to multiple rooms in your home. It delivers 50 watts into 8 ohm speakers or 90 watts into 4 ohm speakers via sophisticated closed-loop digital switching amplifiers paired with extremely robust power supplies to achieve levels of performance rarely achieved in distributed audio.
The amplifier has rack-friendly dimensions and can be mounted in a 2U rack using the supplied mounting ears (the mounting ears are removable for non-rack installations). Because it's a highly efficient Class-D amplifier, noisy fans are required to maintain operating temperature.
On the front, multicolored LED indicators show the status of each channel.
The rear panel features unbalanced inputs, as well as 2-pin Phoenix push-in speaker terminals for each channel. Also on the rear panel are volume controls for volume adjustment, as well as 2 digital audio inputs (either coaxial or optical) that can be bussed together, and channel summing circuits for easy mono signal distribution.
Other features of the MI1250 are:
- Power Guard® signal clipping technology that prevents speaker clipping.
- Our Sentry Monitor™ short-circuit protection circuit that shuts down the power amp before current exceeds a safe operating level, then automatically resets when operating conditions return to normal.
- BUS input and outputs for easy distribution of a stereo signal to multiple outputs and/or multiple amplifiers.
- Individual channel inputs.
- 12 volt trigger capability to automatically turn other connected McIntosh Components on and off.
- Eco-friendly on/off signal detection that turns off the device if no input signal is detected for a specified period of time, or automatically turns on the amplifier when a signal is detected.
