T+A M 200 Mono Poweramplifier

Germany's leading high-end specialist T+A elektroakustik presents an extension of its successful 200 series. The M 200 mono power amplifier pushes the performance of the A 200 to the extreme and delivers up to 420 watts of continuous power to speakers.

"Our 200 series consists exclusively of highly specialized individual components that become even better in the system network. We think this idea through to the end in the M 200,” explains T+A International Sales Director Oliver John on the occasion of the launch of the new M 200 mono power amplifier. In fact, the M 200 fits so seamlessly into the 200 series as if it had been an integral part from the start. “The A 200 is an excellent power amplifier designed for a wide range of applications. With the M 200, we are now giving our customers an even better tailored, even higher quality power amp,” John continues.

Although the optical and technical design of the M 200 is very similar to that of the A 200 power amplifier, the M 200 sets its own performance standards. With over 400 watts of constant output power, it almost doubles the performance of the A 200, while the mono principle eliminates any crosstalk between the right and left channels. T+A's globally acclaimed HV technology ensures maximum natural linearity without any hard negative feedback.

Mono because audiophile

The M 200 mono power amplifier was developed with the aim of enabling the most uncompromising audiophile quality and performance without any restrictions. In addition, the M 200 combines the fine definition, resolution and detailed dynamics of the outstandingly rated A 200 stereo power amplifier. Due to the nature of the system, the M 200 only supplies one loudspeaker and thus celebrates music in an even more audiophile, even more powerful and even more interference-free manner than would ever be possible for a stereo power amplifier.

New circuit topology

For T+A, performance is only positive if it goes hand in hand with the highest sound quality, efficiency and precision. Therefore, the M 200 shares a large part of the technologies used with its sister A 200. At its heart is a completely new circuit topology, which achieves optimum efficiency, performance and sound quality by using the unique HV and high-frequency sine wave power supply unit. Technologies combined with the PURIFI Eigentakt™ output stage technology. This is the only way to turn untamed performance into audiophile top performance.

In contrast to the A 200, the M 200 does not have to share this technology between two loudspeakers, but can only make it available to one loudspeaker. The potential of the A 200 is maximized again. The very high damping factor of the M 200 can be lowered if a warmer or softer sound is desired depending on the loudspeakers.

PURIFI Eigentakt™ technology

The output stages used in the M 200 are Class D amplifiers with PURIFI Eigentakt™ technology. The platform developed by the Danish technology company is currently the world's leading concept for class D power amplifiers and avoids the disadvantages of previous digital amplifiers. Previous digital amplifier concepts are limited by high load dependency on the impedance of the connected loudspeakers, distortion of the output signal, phase noise and increased harmonic distortion at high power levels. On the other hand, the new concept is characterized by excellent data and is therefore predestined for audiophile use:
