Rega Isis
When developing the Isis, it was an important goal to convert the existing digital signal into an analogue signal without internal amplification within the converter. Discrete Class A operational amplifiers and filters are used in the Isis. In the analog section, two Burr PCM 1794 digital to analog converters work in a double mono configuration. This combination enables an exceptionally high dynamic range, low distortion and a linear signal.
In order to use the digital-analog stage with a computer, the Isis also has a USB input with a separate, double-clocked interface. The USB connection also benefits from galvanic isolation from the main circuit, which prevents the flow of earth current between the CD player and the computer. 3 identical laser units are manufactured in production. One is used in the delivered Isis, the other two are marked with the serial number and archived. A contribution to product longevity.
