The Multi Source SACD Player

The MP 2500 R is the newest and most complex multi-source player and PCM / DSD DAC of the R series. It is conceptually and technologically structured like the MP 2000 R MKII. Both devices were specially developed for uncompromising playback of high-resolution audio data. Instead of a CD drive, however, we have equipped the MP 2500 R with our completely newly developed SACD drive from the high-end SACD player MP 3100 HV.
As in the MP 2000 R, we use our outstanding double differential quadruple converter with all of the digital signal processing to convert PCM data. The unique analog T + A True 1-Bit-DSD Converter is used for the DSD data, which does not convert DSD data but processes it natively as a bitstream. This means that DSD data up to DSD 512 coming from the USB input of the digital connecting board can also be reproduced in the highest quality.

As a streaming client, the MP 2500 R has received the T + A High-Res Streaming Board, which not only enables the highest resolution, but also the use of various music services, Internet radio and the connection to the home network via LAN and WLAN, USB Master Mode and HD streaming from network servers. The excellent sounding tuner is FM, FM-HD and DAB + capable. A high-quality Bluetooth streaming module for music transfer from mobile devices is also built in.
The MP 2500 R, or even an entire R system, is operated using the FM1000 infrared remote control or, best of all, the T + A MusicNavigator app. In contrast to the apps from many other manufacturers, this serves our devices completely in all functions and not only shows the information of the streaming client, but also the display content of all sources, such as station names and radio text in FM mode. The bidirectional radio remote control FD 100 can also be used as an option. It not only represents the device display, but also cover art.

Of course, the SACD and CD are losing more and more importance and are being replaced by streamed content, as the enormous success of our multi-source players with their diverse streaming options shows. However, our audiophile customers clearly want to be able to continue to use the CD and SACD, because nobody throws away their old collection and having a real data carrier still has a certain charm. The SACD is currently experiencing a renaissance around the world.
We have therefore decided to develop a completely new, modern SACD drive for our high-end devices, which offers very short access times, has excellent error correction and is equipped with the latest decoders. It reads CD (PCM 44.1 kSps) and SACD (DSD 64 2.8 MHz) discs without errors and in the highest quality.
We put a lot of effort into the mechanical construction of the drive unit with high-quality mechanics, double-laser optics and heavy-duty motors.

In order to prevent any form of interaction between the moving mechanics of the drive and the rest of the player, the drive was mechanically isolated: it received a heavy aluminum support plate that acts as a mass damper and is also encapsulated. Structure-borne noise can therefore not be transferred from the stand area to the electronics and drive. The drawer is guided precisely by two stainless steel push rods and has a high-quality, specially coated ABS overlay.
