Product information MXR 1140 8K Multi Channel A/V-Receiver
Productnumber

215587

The MRX 1140 8K features 11 integrated power amplifiers and full 15.2-channel processing. This allows for the implementation or flexible expansion of complex speaker layouts such as 7.1.4 or 9.1.2 without external power amplifiers.

The amplifier section is divided into two power zones:
The main channels (1–5) deliver 140 watts into 8 ohms (with two channels operating simultaneously), while the remaining channels are rated at 60 watts into 8 ohms. This configuration is tailored to practical home theater loads and offers ample reserves for dynamic multi-channel playback.

HDMI 2.1 and current video formats

A key feature is its full HDMI 2.1 capability with 7 inputs and 3 outputs, including one output with eARC and a separate Zone 2 output. It supports 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz, including current video standards such as HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, VRR, and ALLM.

This means the MRX 1140 8K is designed for both current and future AV sources and offers high flexibility in complex video setups.

Object-oriented surround formats and upmixing

The receiver supports all common object-based audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced. Upmixing options like Dolby Surround, DTS Neural:X, and Anthem Logic are also available.

This allows both native multi-channel content and classic stereo sources to be transformed into a spatial sound image.

ARC Genesis room correction

A key element is the integrated ARC Genesis. This analyzes the listening room in detail and enables precise adjustment of frequency response, delay, levels, as well as subwoofer phase and polarity.

Up to four different correction profiles can be saved, allowing the receiver to be flexibly adapted to different listening situations or content.

Streaming and connectivity

The MRX 1140 8K is fully network-enabled and supports modern streaming standards such as AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect, and Bluetooth. This allows it to be easily integrated into existing streaming ecosystems.

In addition, the Anthem web interface offers convenient system control, supplemented by IP control, RS-232 and IR inputs, as well as several 12V triggers for integration scenarios.

System flexibility and integration

With three HDMI outputs, including a dedicated Zone 2 configuration, the MRX 1140 8K can be flexibly integrated into multiroom or complex home theater setups. Two independent subwoofer outputs and amplifier matrixing significantly expand the speaker configuration possibilities.

Energy and operational data

The receiver is designed for efficient operation and offers different power modes. In standby mode, power consumption is less than 1 watt, while in active operation it varies depending on the load, remaining within the typical range of modern AV components.
