Gold Note Donatello Gold MC-Pickup Low Output

With the Donatello, Gold Note aimed to create a particularly high-performance cartridge in a compact and versatile design. The result is a precision-engineered moving coil (MC) cartridge system whose solidly milled duralumin housing weighs a mere 7 grams, thus enabling easy integration with a wide variety of tonearms.

The design was developed using computer modeling. Precisely tuned internal damping ensures stable vibration transmission, thus creating the basis for precise and controlled scanning.

Precise scanning

The micro-elliptical diamond stylus enables detailed tracking of the record groove and supports the precise reproduction of even the finest musical details. The lightweight aluminum cantilever transmits the diamond's movements to the generator system in a controlled manner, contributing to fast and nuanced signal transmission.

The Donatello Gold achieves a frequency response of 10 Hz to 40 kHz. A channel separation of 24 dB and a channel balance of less than 1 dB support precise and balanced spatial representation.

Two versions for different phono stages

The Donatello series is available in two versions. The Donatello Gold operates as a low-output MC cartridge with an output voltage of 0.5 mV. The Donatello Red, on the other hand, has a significantly higher output voltage of 1.8 mV, thus enabling particularly versatile connection to different phono stages.

The Donatello Gold cartridge has an internal impedance of 40 Ω, while a termination impedance of 470 Ω is recommended. The stylus compliance is 12 × 10⁻⁶ cm/dyne, and the recommended tracking force is between 1.8 and 2.1 g.

Precise construction with low weight

The Donatello Gold cartridge body is made of a duralumin alloy and finished in gold. Weighing only 7 grams, the cartridge offers low moving mass, making it compatible with a wide range of high-quality tonearms.

Gold Note uses copper wire and a samarium-cobalt magnet for the generator. The distance between the mounting hole and the diamond is 9 mm, allowing for precise mounting and adjustment of the cartridge.
