Construction and housing
The Acoustic Signature Tango MK3 phono preamplifier impresses with its sophisticated, precision-engineered design. The resonance-optimized and antimagnetic housing is machined from a solid block of aluminum, providing effective shielding for the sensitive phono signal. The circuit board layout is double-sided and surface-mount (SMD) and is populated exclusively with high-quality components from established brand manufacturers. Exceptionally short signal paths contribute significantly to the high signal purity.
Power supply and equalization
To ensure an absolutely stable power supply, the power supply unit is external. This isolation prevents interference from affecting the signal processing and contributes to the preamplifier's exceptionally quiet operation. The RIAA equalization achieves a maximum deviation of less than 0.2 dB from the ideal curve. The circuit design is further enhanced by additional local electrolytic capacitors for stabilization and an effective subsonic filter that reliably suppresses low-frequency interference.
Adaptability and application range
The Tango MK3 is compatible with MM, MI, and MC cartridges. Gain can be selected in two stages, while the load impedance is adjusted via an internal DIP switch. This flexibility allows for precise matching to different cartridge systems. Overall, the Tango MK3 is characterized by very low distortion, minimal hum and noise, and a balanced, detailed sound reproduction.
