Rega's phono preamplifiers are characterized by their extraordinary sound power and versatility. In combination with Rega's pickups they achieve even more impressive results. The extensive expertise in this area also flows into Rega's integrated amplifiers, which means that they benefit from the right amplification.

• The Rega Aura is a true specialist in moving coil pickups with no compromises. Developed in a completely redesigned housing, it deliberately dispenses with superfluous functions in order to keep the signal path uncomplicated and without compromising transmission quality.
• The MC phono stage features a three-stage, fully balanced preamp configuration. The input stage uses a complementary Class A push-pull circuit with parallel connected, extremely low-noise Linear Systems field effect transistors in a complementary Darlington configuration. This construction guarantees that no unwanted offset currents burden the sensitive pickup. Thanks to the use of field effect transistors, coupling capacitors can also be avoided in order to preserve signal quality. The transistors used are carefully selected and tuned to give the best match.
• The innovative technology continues in the next stages. The first stage controls the passive HF part of the RIAA equalization. The second stage is a balanced class-A differential amplifier with a common-base driver that implements the low-frequency part of the equalization. The third stage performs phase reversal for the balanced output and is the same as the second stage circuit. The power supply is also symmetrical and contains fast diodes as rectifiers and a low-noise reference voltage source. Each amplifier stage is powered by local voltage regulators and LED constant current sources. The supply voltage has been increased by 60% in terms of modulation compared to similar circuits. Only high-quality polypropylene capacitors are used in the signal path, including those with a tolerance of 1% for equalization. The entire circuit uses high quality components, including quality relays for mono, muting and gain switching.
