The McIntosh MT2 Precision Turntable combines the latest in turntable technology and design to deliver both great performance and accurate playback. The MT2 is a great way to upgrade your home audio system to play vinyl albums. Thanks to a variety of functions, all recordings can be played back with flawless realism. Its advanced electronic and mechanical design will give you many years of smooth, trouble-free operation. A subtle green glow under the platter and on the outer edges of the base creates a sophisticated ambience.

The MT2 plays both 33-1 / 3 and 45 rpm records. It is ready for use practically immediately after unpacking. There are just a few steps to set up and you're ready to enjoy your vinyl.

The MT2 comes with a moving coil cartridge that has enough output power to make it compatible not only with moving coil phono inputs, but also with moving magnet inputs. The high impedance and the high output voltage of the pickup ensure noise-free music playback. This unique pickup system features an aluminum cantilever and an elliptical diamond stylus with exceptional sensing capabilities. The tonearm is made of dural aluminum with special damping materials and is light but very stiff. The noiseless vertical bearings consist of two precision ceramic surfaces with damping fluid; the horizontal bearing is gimbaled on sapphires.

The belt-driven, solid black outer plate consists of a special, dynamically balanced polyoxymethylene (POM) and is over 1 'thick. This strength helps dampen and absorb external vibrations that can cause noise during playback; the large mass also ensures the perfect flywheel effect for a stable playback speed. The inner platter is made of CNC machined aluminum. The turntables rotate on a polished and hardened steel shaft in a sintered bronze bushing. The DC motor is driven by an external voltage-stabilized power supply and is completely decoupled from the chassis, so that your records are protected from mechanical interference. The robust base is made of resonance-optimized, high-density wood with a black finish, while the upper and middle acrylic panels absorb unwanted vibrations.

A clear, contoured dust cover is included. The MT2 turntable is compatible with a wide variety of McIntosh phono preamps, stereo preamps, built-in amplifiers, and home theater processors with phono inputs; virtually any of our amplifiers and speakers can be used to complete your audio system.
