Pro-Ject X1 Manual Turntable with Belt Drive
The Pro-Ject X1 continues the design principles of the Pro-Ject 1 and sets new standards in its class through the use of modern materials and manufacturing methods. Developed for audiophiles, this analog turntable combines precise mechanics with a carefully selected range of materials to reduce resonances and vibrations.
Key technical features and design
- Carbon-aluminum sandwich tonearm (8.6 inches): The one-piece construction combines the high rigidity of carbon fiber with the internal damping of aluminum. This ensures precise tracking of the record groove. The included counterweight is damped with thermoplastic elastomers (TPE).
- Fully adjustable tonearm geometry: Azimuth and vertical tracking angle (VTA) are continuously adjustable. This allows for the precise alignment of different cartridge systems and the use of individual platter mats.
- Pro-Ject Pick it S2 MM cartridge: The factory-installed moving magnet cartridge is manufactured by Ortofon and tuned by Pro-Ject. It delivers a balanced sound with clearly structured spatiality and high detail fidelity.
- Acrylic turntable platter (1.5 kg): The resonance-free platter made of cast acrylic serves as a stable base for vinyl records and, due to its material properties, does not require an additional platter support.
- Precision motor control: A DC/AC generator board converts the input voltage into clean alternating current. This guarantees precise motor synchronization. Speed switching between 33 and 45 rpm is electronic at the touch of a button (78 rpm manually).
- Decoupling and bearing: The platter bearing consists of a stainless steel axle in a brass bushing with a Teflon bearing surface. A newly developed motor suspension effectively decouples motor vibrations from the chassis and tonearm to minimize rumble.
- Height-adjustable aluminum feet: Three decoupled, TPE-damped metal feet prevent acoustic feedback and allow for precise leveling of the drive.
- Connect it E Phono Cable: Included in the package is a wired, semi-balanced RCA cable with low capacitance and effective shielding, ensuring low-loss signal transmission to the phono preamplifier.
