The Rega Replay marks the entry into high-fidelity vinyl playback. Designed and handcrafted in Great Britain, this model encapsulates over 50 years of analog engineering expertise in an accessible, plug-and-play system. After three years of development, the turntable combines mechanical precision, carefully selected materials, and uncompromising ease of use.
Design and resonance control
The foundation is a laminated, lightweight chassis with a skeletonized construction and a highly rigid black MDF core. This design minimizes resonance storage and prevents unwanted energy transfer. The construction is complemented by newly developed feet that effectively decouple the turntable from mechanical vibrations of the surface it rests on.
The 23 mm thick platter is made of high-density phenolic resin. Its increased mass creates a controlled inertial effect, which, together with the CNC-machined aluminum pulley and the EBLT drive belt, ensures precise speed stability. The included white platter mat has a specially textured underside that guarantees a non-slip grip on the platter's surface.
Drive and bearing
Inside, a quiet 24V AC synchronous motor operates. The newly designed motor module integrates the circuit board, power switch, power connection, ventilation, and rear foot into a single functional unit.
The main bearing is based on a redesigned brass construction with optimized precision. This manufacturing process tolerates minimal gaps, which reduces mechanical stress during operation and prevents the transmission of interference noise into the signal path.
tonearm and cartridge
The Replay is equipped with the latest generation of the RB110 tonearm. This utilizes extremely low-friction special bearings developed by Rega and an ergonomically shaped headshell for precise tracking and ease of use.
The antiskating is factory preset. The 111g plug-and-play counterweight simply needs to be pushed all the way onto the tonearm tube during setup. No manual fine-tuning of tracking force or antiskating is required.
The Rega Carbon moving magnet cartridge, pre-mounted and precisely aligned at the factory, serves as the stylus. The signal is therefore picked up at the optimal geometric angle immediately after unpacking.
