The Thorens Absorber Base TAB1600 was specially developed for the improved installation of turntables. The base plate made of MDF, which is additionally cushioned by a fabric layer, is made with an acoustic foam in a sandwich construction. This unique combination decouples the turntable from its underground in a highly efficient manner and thus prevents acoustic feedback. Contrary to the principle of coupling with spikes, which often negatively affects the sound quality through vibration coupling to the ground, we use the principle of decoupling with the TAB1600 in order to keep negative influences from structure-borne noise away from the turntable.
