With the Unico PRE, Unison Research presents the new flagship preamplifier in the Unico series. At the same time, this model officially introduces the new design language of the Unico product family – together with the Unico DM. The design has been completely revamped, combining modern lines with an elegant, clearly structured form.
Design & Housing Construction
The 15-millimeter-thick front panel is milled from a solid block of aluminum. This construction provides stability and underscores the high manufacturing precision. The Midnight Black and Velvet Gold surface finishes add distinctive accents and highlight the details of the front panel design. The finely finished texture is appealing both visually and to the touch.
A 2-millimeter-thick aluminum cover encases the entire housing. It ensures a clean, harmonious look and reinforces the device's solid overall impression. The choice of material is based not only on aesthetic but also on structural considerations.
Wooden elements incorporate the historic Unico logo, consciously referencing the brand's heritage. This design detail connects the new design line with the series' history.
Functional design feature
A special element is located inside the device: the Unison Research logo serves as the on/off switch. This detail combines design and function in a distinctive way and fits seamlessly into the revised overall concept.
Precise volume control
For volume control, the Unico PRE uses a high-quality integrated component with precision resistors. This solution ensures precise level control and perfect channel balance. The precise tuning guarantees that the audio signal remains pristine under all operating conditions.
The high precision of the resistors ensures a consistent balance between the left and right channels. This significantly contributes to signal integrity and clean playback.
