Aurender A1000 – Music server and DAC for uncompromising digital playback

The Aurender A1000 is a modern music server with an integrated high-end DAC that combines streaming, local music collections, and external digital sources into a single, seamlessly integrated device. It is aimed at listeners seeking a sonically compelling digital source – without complex computer solutions or software tinkering.

In the A1000, Aurender combines its established server architecture with significantly expanded connectivity. The result is a compact player that can function both as a central digital source and as a preamplifier. Thanks to variable and fixed analog outputs, the device can be connected directly to a power amplifier or integrated into an existing system in a traditional manner.

Precise digital-to-analog conversion

At the heart of the A1000 is an AKM4490REQ DAC operating in dual-mono mode . This architecture processes the two channels completely separately, minimizing crosstalk and interference in the signal path. It supports high-resolution formats up to 384 kHz / 32-bit PCM and DSD512 (native) .

A TCXO (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator) clock source ensures exceptionally stable timing and reduces jitter. Combined with the linear power supply, this results in smooth, precise playback with high spatial resolution and clear structure.

Consistently separate power supply

As is typical for Aurender, the A1000 uses a linear power supply architecture . The processor and the audio section are each powered by their own low-noise linear power supplies. This separation prevents interference from processing and creates stable conditions for the conversion.

The core of the controller is a quad-core processor (ARM Cortex-A55, 2.0 GHz) with 4 GB of RAM. The operating system runs on internal storage, while an NVMe cache temporarily stores frequently used data, thus accelerating access and reducing network load.

Music server with flexible storage solution

The A1000 can be used both as a pure streaming player and as a music server for a local collection. A 2.5-inch SSD slot allows the installation of an internal SSD with up to 8 TB of capacity .

Those who only use streaming can leave the slot empty – a pragmatic approach that avoids unnecessary costs.

The music library is conveniently managed via the Aurender Conductor App .

Streaming and wireless playback

The A1000 integrates the most important streaming standards directly into the system:

Tidal Connect

Spotify Connect

AirPlay

Google Cast Audio (e.g. Qobuz, YouTube Music, Deezer)

Bluetooth with aptX-HD

This allows music to be streamed directly from many apps, without additional hardware or detours via computers.

Digital interfaces for external sources

Besides streaming, the A1000 can also serve as a high-quality DAC hub for other devices. Coaxial and optical digital inputs , USB audio , and HDMI-ARC allow for the integration of devices such as CD transports, televisions, or other digital sources.

All signals are processed via the internal DAC and thus benefit from the same high-quality conversion.

Conversely , coaxial and USB digital outputs are available should an external DAC be used later. The A1000 can then continue to function as a streamer and music server.

HDMI-ARC for TV integration

The integrated HDMI ARC input allows a direct connection to the TV. This enables playback of TV streaming apps or connected devices via the Aurender – with significantly better sound quality than via typical TV audio outputs.

Direct control on the device

The front of the A1000 features a high-resolution 6.9-inch IPS color display . Album art, track information, and system status are clearly displayed.

In addition, there are control buttons on the front and a Bluetooth LE remote control available, so that basic functions can be controlled even without a smartphone or tablet.

The entire system is integrated into a solid milled aluminum housing , which provides mechanical stability and effective shielding against electromagnetic interference.
