The AOS is an uncompromisingly engineered, fully adjustable moving coil preamplifier, its circuitry derived directly from our award-winning Aura Reference MC phono stage. Housed in a custom-made, half-standard Rega chassis, the AOS transforms your vinyl collection into a vibrant sonic adventure. Versatility for every MC cartridge
Whether high-output or low-output, the AOS delivers ample gain for all moving coil cartridges. Its fully adjustable load control allows you to precisely match resistance and capacitance to your cartridge – for maximum sonic fidelity without compromise. This makes the AOS the perfect partner for any MC cartridge.
Purely analog, uncompromising
The AOS is a purely analog amplifier without digital control, featuring a solid aluminum housing that reliably shields the circuitry from interference (RFI). Our team deliberately avoided unnecessary components that could impair the signal path – every component serves only one purpose: pure sound.
Innovative features such as the self-adjusting servo control compensate for temperature and operating fluctuations, while parallel-connected, low-noise FET transistors operate as a compound pair. This prevents bias current from flowing through the pickup coil, thus preserving the delicate magnetic geometry of your pickup.
The MC input offers resistive loads from 70 Ω to 400 Ω and capacitive loads from 1000 pF to 4300 pF. The input sensitivity can be adjusted by 6 dB via the rear panel – maximum flexibility for any combination of cartridge and amplifier.

First amplifier stage
The first stage is a symmetrical, complementary Class A amplifier equipped with ultra-low-noise FET transistors. No bias current passes through the cartridge coil, thus preventing any interference with the delicate magnetic structure. The input circuitry operates without coupling capacitors, thereby avoiding any sound-degrading influences. Carefully selected and matched FETs guarantee optimal performance and drive the passive high-frequency section of the RIAA equalization.
Second amplifier stage
The second stage is a symmetrical Class A differential amplifier with a driver stage in common-mode configuration, which simultaneously functions as an active amplifier in the low-frequency range of the RIAA equalization. Precision, transparency, and rich detail – at every level of your vinyl experience.
