The new McIntosh MT10 is not the first McIntosh turntable, but the first with the traditional glass front. This gives the MT10 a unique finish that gives the analog drive its typical McIntosh charm and character. But the MT10 is not just a work of art, it is also an innovative precision turntable:
The chassis is an elaborate sandwich construction made of steel and acrylic, for a resonance-free construction. A massive and extremely precisely manufactured acrylic platter rotates on a magnetic bearing for absolute freedom from friction. The camp itself is made of ceramic! The MT10 is incredibly quiet thanks to a new type of speed control, which is controlled by a stroboscopic display. A speed of 33 1/3, 45 or 78 RPM can be set. A tonearm made especially for McIntosh made of dural aluminum with two horizontal sapphire bearings and two vertical ceramic bearings guides the pickup precisely through the grooves of the record.
An MC system works with an output voltage of 0.5 mV for the MT10. The pickup system sits in an ebony housing and has a unique elliptical cut, which also makes it possible to listen to records with 78RPM without compromise.
