Luxman B-100 CENTENNIAL

To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Luxman presents the B-100 CENTENNIAL, a mono power amplifier that combines decades of experience from the Japanese manufacturer with a completely redesigned amplifier architecture. The B-100 unites high power reserves and exceptional current delivery with the precision and musicality characteristic of Luxman.

Newly developed output stage

At the heart of the B-100 CENTENNIAL is a newly developed output stage with four parallel amplifier modules per half-wave. This sophisticated topology enables exceptionally linear signal processing and reduces distortion even under demanding load conditions.

Up to a power output of 25 watts into 8 ohms, the amplifier operates in pure Class A mode. Beyond that, it seamlessly switches to high-performance Class AB operation. Thus, the B-100 combines the sonic characteristics of the Class A principle with the power reserves of a modern high-performance amplifier.

With 125 watts at 8 ohms and 250 watts at 4 ohms, even demanding loudspeakers have ample power available. Up to 1,000 watts at 1 ohm are possible for short periods – a power reserve that ensures high control and stability, especially with complex and impedance-sensitive loudspeaker loads.

LIFES 1.1

For negative feedback, Luxman relies on its further developed LIFES 1.1 technology (Luxman Integrated Feedback Engine System). This concept, developed by Luxman, intervenes specifically at actual distortions without unnecessarily affecting the music signal.

In version 1.1, signal paths and circuit design were further optimized. The resulting high stability and low distortion form the basis for a transparent, dynamic, and natural sound reproduction that also preserves subtle timbres and spatial information.

High-performance power supply

An amplifier of this power class requires a correspondingly sized power supply. The B-100 CENTENNIAL uses a 1,250 VA EI core transformer, supplemented by high-performance filter capacitors with ample energy reserves.

The generously designed power supply provides sufficient energy even during rapid dynamic shifts and at low impedances. This ensures that the power amplifier remains controlled and composed even at high volume levels.

Complex mechanical construction

Luxman also employs a housing design specifically engineered for electrical and mechanical stability. The highly rigid loopless chassis reduces ground and earth impedances and shields the sensitive audio circuitry from electromagnetic interference.

A multi-layered base plate with a material thickness of up to 5.5 mm, along with specially designed cast iron feet, contributes to the reduction of resonances. Weighing 61.5 kg, the B-100 CENTENNIAL is inherently designed to provide a particularly stable operating environment for the amplifier circuitry.

Exclusive CENTENNIAL Design

To mark its 100th anniversary, the B-100 CENTENNIAL has been given a unique design. The finely satin-finished metallic front, the large power meter, and the CENTENNIAL emblem lend the mono power amplifier a distinctive, yet typically minimalist Luxman aesthetic.

The B-100 CENTENNIAL thus combines modern amplifier technology, enormous power reserves and a sophisticated mechanical design with Luxman's decades of development experience – as an anniversary model to mark the end of the first century and the starting point for the next century of the brand.
