Aurender ACS10 – Content server, CD ripper and central music library for high-end systems

The Aurender ACS10 is designed as a content server and music library hub. It combines three functions in one device: automated CD ripping, centralized storage management, and audiophile digital transport via USB. The goal is not integration into the playback process itself, but rather a clean separation of data storage and playback chain.

The ACS10 is aimed at systems with larger local music collections or multiple listening chains where a central, stable and permanently available music library is required.

Architecture: Server, ripper and library center

Unlike traditional streamers, the ACS10 functions as a dedicated content server. Music is stored and managed centrally and made available to other Aurender devices on the network. This relieves the burden on the actual playback chain.

Operation is via the Aurender Conductor App and the ACS Manager Software, which was specifically developed for library management, metadata maintenance and CD ripping.

CD ripping and data quality

The integrated CD drive uses a specially tuned ripping engine. The goal is a consistent, bit-perfect transfer of CD content into file formats such as FLAC, WAV, or AIFF.

Metadata is retrieved automatically and can be edited manually. For larger archiving projects, it is possible to connect an external auto-loader (e.g., Nimbie systems) to automate the ripping process.

Storage architecture and redundancy

The ACS10 is based on a dual HDD system with RAID1 mirroring. This ensures that every file is stored redundantly to prevent data loss in the event of drive failure.

Depending on the configuration, capacities of up to 28 TB are available. Alternatively, the system can also be operated without mirroring to utilize the full capacity of both drives.

Network function as a central music server

The ACS10 acts as a central server within a multi-room or multi-system setup. Other Aurender players can access the stored library directly via the network.

This deliberately decouples the playback chain: server functions and audio playback are organized separately.

USB audio output and signal isolation

In addition to its server function, the ACS10 features a dedicated USB audio output. This is electrically and physically isolated from the rest of the system to minimize interference from CPU and memory operation.

The USB output is designed for direct connection to high-quality DACs and supports high-resolution formats up to DSD512 (native).

Power supply and operational reliability

The power supply is fully linear and designed for low electrical interference. A supercapacitor UPS protects the system in the event of a power outage and enables a controlled shutdown without data loss.

Operation and software

The control is achieved via two software levels:

• Aurender Conductor App (Playback and access over the network)
• ACS Manager (Library, CD Ripping, Metadata Editing)

This means the ACS10 is used not only as storage, but also as a management platform for large music collections.

Housing and construction

The housing is made of CNC-machined aluminum and is designed for continuous operation. A 4-inch display shows system and drive status information.
