Grado Green 4

The Grado Green 4 is part of the Prestige Series and combines the fundamental sonic and constructional characteristics of Grado cartridges. Based on decades of experience in cartridge development, it offers stable and musical reproduction and, thanks to its versatile design, can be used in a wide variety of hi-fi systems.

Like all Grado cartridges, the Green 4 utilizes moving-iron technology. Its low moving mass enables precise and consistent signal transmission, contributing to reliable performance over time. The injection-molded housing ensures a robust and consistent construction and facilitates handling.

The Green4 is designed as a high-output pickup and is available in both standard mount and P-mount versions.

Sound and performance

The Green 4 delivers a balanced and musical performance, combining clear detail reproduction with a smooth treble range. The midrange possesses warmth and presence, while the bass remains controlled and precisely defined.

Recordings are presented coherently and stably. The balanced tuning supports a natural and immediate musical character and allows the individual structure of the recording to shine through.

Diamond, stylus and stylus unit

The Green 4 features a bonded elliptical diamond stylus mounted on an aluminum cantilever. The elliptical profile ensures effective contact with the record groove and reliable tracking.

The aluminum cantilever ensures stable and balanced operation. The combination of diamond and cantilever guarantees consistent performance across different recordings.

The stylus assembly is user-replaceable. This makes the cartridge easy to maintain and ensures long-term use. The styli in the Prestige Series are interchangeable, offering additional flexibility when selecting and replacing the stylus assembly.

Moving iron technology

Like all Grado pickups, the Green 4 is based on the Flux-Bridger principle patented by Joseph Grado. In this system, a piece of iron with a particularly low moving mass moves, while the coils remain fixed in position.

The design enables precise and rapid signal transmission, combining responsiveness and control with high harmonic integrity. At the same time, it helps to maintain the pickup's sonic characteristics consistently over a long period.

High-purity 5N-OCC copper

Grado uses high-purity 5N-OCC copper for the internal signal path. The material was chosen for its high conductivity and consistent properties.

Each pickup is also cryogenically treated and internally damped. This reduces unwanted resonances and helps maintain signal integrity. The result is a coherent, balanced, and dynamically responsive sound reproduction.
