Pro-Ject Phono Box MM (DC) Phono Preamplifier

Many modern amplifiers no longer have a dedicated phono input. Therefore, a separate phono preamplifier is required to connect a turntable. The Pro-Ject Phono Box MM offers a compact and high-quality solution for precisely this need. It allows the connection of turntables with MM as well as high-output MC cartridges, making vinyl enjoyment possible even with systems lacking a phono input.

The preamplifier is simply connected between the turntable and a free line input on the amplifier – for example, AUX or Line-In. This allows almost any hi-fi system to be easily expanded to include a turntable.

Clean signal processing for clear sound

The Phono Box MM is based on a modern circuit design specifically engineered for exceptionally low-noise and low-distortion signal processing. High-quality, ultra-low-noise ICs ensure that even the very weak signals from a phono cartridge are amplified with precision.

The dual-mono design of the circuit ensures excellent channel separation between the left and right channels. This preserves the spatial imaging of the music clearly and precisely.

Effective protection against interference

To best protect the sensitive audio signals, Pro-Ject employs several measures to reduce interference. The robust metal housing protects the electronics from electromagnetic interference and mechanical vibrations.

Additionally, the power supply is external, thus keeping potential interference away from the actual amplifier circuitry. This allows the Phono Box MM to deliver a clean and stable audio signal.

Compact and flexibly placeable

• Thanks to its compact design, the Phono Box MM can be easily integrated into almost any hi-fi setup. It can be placed directly next to the turntable, allowing for particularly short signal paths.
