Aurender MC10

Rubidium Master Clock for more precise digital audio playback

Digital audio playback stands or falls on precise timing. Even high-quality streamers, music servers, and DACs can only reach their full potential if all digital processes are based on a stable and accurate clock reference.

With the Aurender MC10, Aurender offers a consistently developed 10 MHz master clock that focuses on the essentials: maximum precision in digital signal processing – without additional features that are not needed in many setups.

Compared to the MC20, the MC10 adopts the sonically relevant core technologies but deliberately omits additional word clock sections. The result is a technically focused solution for users seeking a highly precise master clock who rely exclusively on the truly essential functions.

Rubidium oscillator for extremely stable clocking

At the heart of the MC10 is a high-precision rubidium clock module that generates a particularly stable 10 MHz reference signal . This technology is used to ensure minimal clock deviations, the lowest possible phase noise, and extremely low jitter.

A clean clock reference reduces errors in digital signal transmission and significantly improves synchronization between the audio components involved.

Sonically, this manifests as a more precise spatial representation, clearer contours of individual instruments, and an overall calmer, more natural reproduction. Vocals sound more focused, complex passages retain better structure, and digital harshness is reduced.

Focused on the essentials

The MC10 adopts the key performance features of the larger MC20:

  • Rubidium-based 10 MHz master clock
  • elaborate power supply
  • Measures to minimize vibrations
  • extremely low jitter values
  • high long-term and short-term stability

Aurender deliberately omits additional OCXO word clock modules, as these can only be used effectively with a very small number of specialized DACs.

For the majority of high-quality digital audio systems, the MC10 therefore offers exactly the functions that are actually needed.

Flexible connection options

The Aurender MC10 has a total of four 10 MHz outputs :

  • 2 x 75 ohms
  • 2 x 50 ohms

This allows the clock to be flexibly integrated into different high-end systems.

The MC10 is compatible with, among others, Aurender components with a clock input:

  • Aurender N20
  • Aurender W20
  • Aurender W20SE
  • Aurender N30SA
  • Aurender AP20

Furthermore, the MC10 can be used with compatible DACs and word clocks that support a 10 MHz master clock input – for example, from manufacturers such as Esoteric, CH Precision, or dCS.

Audible improvement through precise synchronization

Simply synchronizing an Aurender server can noticeably improve playback quality. The sound image appears more stable, instruments are positioned more clearly, and spatial information is rendered more precisely.

If a compatible DAC is also integrated into the same clock structure, the precision within the entire digital chain increases significantly again.

For ambitious high-end systems, the MC10 thus offers a technically sound solution for optimizing digital signal paths.
