The combination of the Acoustic Signature Double X NEO turntable, the Acoustic Signature TA-2000 NEO tonearm, and the Acoustic Signature MCX4 moving-coil cartridge represents a sophisticated, integrated analog solution. It combines classic design with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and follows a clear goal: maximum mechanical control as the foundation for sonic precision.

Double X NEO – Mass-loaded drive with substance

The Double X has been one of the defining models in Acoustic Signature's portfolio for years. In the NEO version, the concept has been further developed in key aspects and technically refined.

At its heart is the high-precision Dura Turn Diamond® bearing (DTD®) with a diamond-coated spindle. Its extremely rigid design minimizes friction and ensures consistently stable rotation. The 50 mm thick, 10.3 kg aluminum platter incorporates eight integrated silencer modules that selectively reduce platter resonances.

Additionally, CLD (Constraint Layer Damping) technology is employed. The 64 mm thick multi-sandwich chassis made of MDF, steel, and plywood significantly improves resonance behavior and increases structural rigidity. In conjunction with AVC Level 1 (Automatic Vibration Control) technology, this results in a controlled, mechanically dampened platform.

The quiet AC motor is powered by an external, highly stable multi-voltage power supply (100–260 V AC). The integrated digital motor electronics enable precise speed control at 33 1/3 and 45 rpm, including fine adjustment.

The three-point mounting system, supported by height-adjustable, damped aluminum feet, allows for precise leveling. Weighing approximately 24 kg, the turntable boasts a substantial mass base. It is available in either high-gloss black or a combination of high-gloss black with a Makassar ebony top. A 15-year warranty upon registration (for products manufactured from October 2020 onwards) underscores the commitment to long-term quality.

TA-2000 NEO – Mechanical precision at a reference level

The TA-2000 NEO was developed for demanding analog configurations where the highest precision and structural quality are paramount. The carbon dual-layer tonearm tube ensures high rigidity while effectively damping unwanted vibrations.

A precision gimbal bearing from SKF enables virtually frictionless and backlash-free movement in both planes. The stainless steel tonearm axle further enhances mechanical stability. With an effective mass of 9.6 g in the 9-inch version, the tonearm is ideally suited for high-quality MC cartridges in the medium compliance range.

Internal signal routing is via studio-quality MOGAMI copper cabling. Included in the package is a 1.5 m Audioquest phono cable with a 5-pin connector, RCA plugs, and a separate ground connection.

VTA and azimuth adjustment, a precisely machined brass counterweight, and a finely adjustable anti-skating mechanism allow for precise adaptation to the installed cartridge. Mounting is according to SME or Rega standards.

MCX4 – Reference within the MCX series

The MCX4 is the top model in the MCX series. It was developed according to the latest manufacturing standards and is designed for maximum precision.

Its nude Shibata stylus allows for exceptionally deep and precise groove tracking. Gold-plated coils made of oxygen-free copper (OFC) ensure extremely accurate signal transmission. With an output voltage of 0.3 mV, the system is designed for high-quality MC phono preamps.

The CNC-milled aluminum housing was resonance-optimized using finite element analysis. This minimizes unwanted vibrations and achieves a high degree of structural stability.

With a compliance of 15 m/mN, the MCX4 is suitable for medium to heavy tonearms. The recommended tracking force is 2.3 g within a range of 2.1 to 2.5 g.
