The combination of the Acoustic Signature Maximus NEO turntable, the Acoustic Signature TA-1000 NEO tonearm (9-inch version), and the Acoustic Signature MCX3 moving-coil cartridge forms a technically and sonically coherent system. All components adhere to a clearly defined design philosophy: high-quality materials, precise manufacturing, and controlled resonance. The result is an analog configuration that combines mechanical stability with sonic authority.
Maximus NEO – The mechanical basis
The Maximus NEO represents the entry into Acoustic Signature's mass-loaded turntable technology – but at a level that is significantly above classic entry-level concepts.
At its core is the Dura Turn Diamond® bearing (DTD®) with a diamond-coated spindle. It is manufactured with high precision, is extremely durable, and designed for minimal friction. Combined with the 34 mm thick, 5.8 kg heavy aluminum platter, this creates a smooth-running, stable rotational base with excellent speed stability.
The 30 mm thick plinth, made of resonance-optimized aluminum alloy, ensures structural stability. Additionally, AVC Level 1 (Automatic Vibration Control) technology is used, which specifically reduces micro-vibrations.
A quiet AC motor is powered by an external, highly stable multi-voltage power supply (100–260 V AC / 24 V DC). The integrated digital motor electronics precisely control the speed at 33 1/3 and 45 rpm, including fine adjustment.
Height-adjustable, yellow-damped aluminum feet allow for a defined three-point setup and precise leveling. Weighing approximately 18 kg, the turntable offers a robust, mechanically resilient platform for high-quality tonearm configurations.
TA-1000 NEO – Precision in guidance
The TA-1000 NEO in the 9-inch version was consistently designed for structural rigidity and resonance control. The carbon dual-layer tonearm tube combines low weight with high torsional rigidity and effectively reduces inherent resonances.
A precision gimbal ball bearing ensures exact, low-friction movement in both horizontal and vertical planes. The stainless steel tonearm axle further enhances mechanical stability. With an effective mass of 9.3 g, the tonearm is ideally suited for MC cartridges in the medium compliance range.
Internal signal routing is via studio-quality MOGAMI copper cabling. Included in the package is a 1.5 m Audioquest phono cable with a 5-pin connector, RCA plugs, and a separate ground connection.
VTA and azimuth adjustment, a precisely machined brass counterweight and an anti-skating weight allow for precise adjustment and adaptation to the pickup used.
MCX3 – Precise sampling, controlled energy
The MCX3 is a modern moving-coil cartridge designed specifically for the NEO tonearms. Its Nude Fine Line stylus profile allows for deep and clean groove tracking and supports detailed treble resolution with stable midrange imaging.
The coils are made of high-purity 4N copper. With an output voltage of 0.35 mV, the system is designed for use with high-quality MC phono preamps. The CNC-machined aluminum housing has been resonance-optimized using finite element analysis, minimizing unwanted cabinet resonances.
With a compliance of 15 m/mN, the system harmonizes perfectly with medium-mass tonearms such as the TA-1000 NEO. The recommended tracking force is 2.3 g within a range of 2.1 to 2.5 g.
