Housing design and power supply
The Acoustic Signature Tango Reference NEO is a high-quality phono preamplifier designed for the precise and unadulterated processing of even the smallest input signals. The resonance-optimized and antimagnetic housing, machined from a solid block of aluminum, underscores the high engineering standards and effectively protects the delicate phono signal from external influences.
Power is supplied via an oversized power supply unit with a toroidal transformer, housed on a separate circuit board. Both components are mounted on a shielding steel plate to ensure an absolutely stable power supply and prevent interference with the signal processing. This elaborate separation contributes significantly to the device's quiet operation and stability.
Signal processing and equalization
The signal path uses only highly selected and individually measured quality components. The semi-active RIAA equalization achieves exceptionally high accuracy with a maximum deviation of less than 0.1 dB from the ideal curve. The output stage is a single-ended Class A circuit, ensuring minimal distortion and very low hum and noise.
Adaptability and sonic orientation
The Tango Reference NEO is designed for MM, MI, and MC cartridges. The gain can be adjusted in four steps, as can the termination impedance, allowing for flexible adaptation to different cartridge systems. An integrated subsonic filter reliably protects against low-frequency interference.
