Luxman PD-151 MARK II Analog Turntable
Classic vinyl art. Precisely reimagined.
With the PD-151 MARK II, Luxman deepens the timeless appeal of analog music playback and redefines functional beauty. Designed for music lovers who understand vinyl not as nostalgia but as a conscious listening experience, this belt-driven turntable sets a new standard in its class.
Based on the successful platform of the PD-151, the MARK II has been specifically further developed – with a newly designed, highly sensitive tonearm, optimized drive technology and an uncompromising focus on sonic stability.
The result: an analog playback that clearly stands out from the digital world: calm, organic and full of musical depth.
New tonearm LTA-309 – Precision and control
The newly developed LUXMAN LTA-309 tonearm utilizes knife-edge bearing technology from SAEC, one of Japan's most renowned tonearm specialists. The combination of excellent initial sensitivity and high mechanical stability allows for exceptionally precise tracking of even the finest groove details.
Milled aluminum in the tonearm base minimizes contact surfaces and effectively suppresses vibrations. In addition to classic settings like tracking force and anti-skating, the tonearm height can also be finely adjusted – for optimal adaptation to a wide variety of cartridges. The S-shaped arm with H4 bayonet mount allows for convenient and secure cartridge changes.
High-precision DC motor with PID control
A clean pitch begins with absolutely stable rotation. The PD-151 MARK II utilizes a proprietary, high-torque, brushless DC motor powered by a specially designed sine wave/PWM power supply.
The integrated PID controller constantly monitors the rotational speed and corrects even the smallest deviations in real time. An extra-wide drive belt powers the platter around its outer circumference, ensuring stable speeds at 33, 45, and 78 RPM, including manual fine-tuning of ±6%.
Solid turntable and high-precision bearing
The 4.0 kg platter is milled from a solid block of aluminum and diamond-ground. Its high moment of inertia acts like a flywheel, guaranteeing smooth, even rotation.
The 16 mm thick stainless steel spindle runs in a sophisticated bearing combination consisting of a PEEK axial bearing and an oil-lubricated brass radial bearing. This design combines high load capacity with excellent smooth running and long-term stability. A vibration-absorbing rubber mat is included as standard.
Functional LUXMAN design
The PD-151 MARK II adopts the clear, award-winning design concept of its predecessor. The 10 mm thick aluminum top plate with its fine hairline finish focuses on the essentials: tonearm, motor, and platter.
All controls – power switch, motor control, speed selection, and displays – are elegantly integrated into the front panel. The contrast between brushed aluminum and the matte black base creates a timeless, technical aesthetic. A custom-fit acrylic dust cover with smooth-running hinges is available as an option.
Consistent vibration control
To protect the most sensitive phono signals, Luxman employs a sophisticated damping concept. The motor and transformer are mounted with internal decoupling, while the entire construction is based on a special subframe structure that combines rigidity and low resonance.
Height-adjustable, vibration-damping isolator feet enable precise alignment and reliably protect against feedback and external interference.
